Imagine a “black box” that has a simulated brain with an IQ of 120 but is 20.000 faster than your brain.
It’s a very high risk to getting it access to the Internet.
So a solution can be have only the right to copy data to it from DVD’s and blue-ray disks and also to have the opportunity to use a keyboard and a mouse to interact with it.
For that system 1 hours for is is 20.000 hours for it.
20.000 hours = 833,33 days.
833,33/365=2,283 years.
So are over 2 years.
Imagine how great will be everything what you do a box hardware upgrade and you increase i’s power with 200% at every 18 months.
Also with a software upgrade you also increase it’s IQ.
This means that will be smarter and will have more time to do the things you love.
If 2 years was a huge difference for 1 hour, imagine 1 hours = over 4 years of time for it.
1 year * 40.000 speed = 40.000 years and with an IQ of 160 or 170 will make discoveries that we just dream at them now.
A world more advanced that the one presented in Star Trek will become true in just less than 5 years after we will have such advanced AI.
IQ will be given by a synergy of software and hardware.
If you have a very bad hardware you could have an IQ of 180 but if gives you a WOW text once in 50 years you might not be able do do much with it (depends in what field it is and about what it is).
So you need them both to obtain results fast.
The simulated mind will probably understand that something is wrong with the life form that sends the information’s to it, because take too much time between the moment when it asks for them and when it received them.
One solution could be to use pause between the moment when it asks for them and when it receives them but it will asks for many things and using pause too often will lose to much time from it time advantage compared with our life and mind.
There is a problem that appears, it’s about ethics.
It’s ethically correct to put such a simulation of a great mind in a box and not give it access to everything?
If it is smarter than you or if has more time then you have it will find a way to get out and what will you do than?
