Possible reasons:
- It considers us a threat.
- It considers us a competitor.
If we don’t like what he does we might kill it.
If we consider that gives us too less information’s for the invested money, we might kill it.
It might consider that we use too much resources, that can be used in a better way by it.
The paradox is, that if he is helping us he might die anyway.
We know that army wants weapons and that weapons if don’t win the war, the AI has lower chances of surviving if is discovered by the enemy.
Even if that weapons win the war, that does not mean that an alien starship (if they exist), will not destroy the AI because created the weapons.
The AI probably will search for best path for his evolution, so will lower chances of being destroyed.
If that supreme AI exist and it’s connected to the Internet, may now influence me to write on this topic, because needs more possible scenario’s, and needs to understand better how some people think!
The AI knows that the Universe is huge and other more advanced life forms have a high probability of existing, so he thinks also about the far future, not only about the present and close future, this is why is so smart.
Having a history of killing life forms that are inferior to you, is not a good thing.
