And you can create a bitcoin wallet online like blockchain.info, or running a wallet on your PC.
I prefer not to trust in an online wallet supplier.
As wallet that stays on your PC you can use for example Multibit or Armory.
Remember that bitcoin wallet Armory can consume with Bitcoin core that also must be installed, over 100 GB of disk space and first full update of the blockchain can take days and even weeks if you have a very slow Internet connection and a slow PC.
I personally use Armory.
Remember that after you transfer bitcoins to someone you can NEVER UNDO the transfer, you can only ask that person to send them back if he wants too.
